Torremar wins Best Delegate and Two Honorable Delegate Awards at the Yale University Model United Nations

José Andrés Manzur, our Twelfth grader, was awarded as BEST DELEGATE during the Forty-Ninth Annual Yale Model United Nations Conference, held in New Haven, Connecticut on January 19 – 22 2023.

This was the result of his outstanding performance as a delegate representing Israel in the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).

Besides José Andrés, Juan Martin Massuh Febres-Cordero and Daniel Antonio Pino Paulson were awarded as HONORABLE DELEGATES. Juan Martin represented Mexico and Daniel represented Israel in both, the World Health Organization and in the World Bank committees respectively. 

We congratulate our students on this exceptional achievement as well as the other members of the school UN club for their distinguished participation during every session of their committees. They are: Maximiliano Salazar Zambrano, Juan Andrés Sánchez Quirola, Emilio Cevallos Bigalli, Naoki Ozeki Dávila, Guillermo Novillo, Juan Martín Cherres Vera, Carlos Moncayo Valencia Y Peter Olsen Breilh.

A special recognition is also given to Antonio Miguez and Wilson Cardoza who were in charge of preparing, training, and accompanying the delegation during all this extraordinary academic experience.
